The following guides for Rhode Island were adapted from the Massachusetts DCR guides, Caring for Your Woods: Adapting to Changing Conditions and Managing Forests for Climate Change in Massachusetts, by the University of Rhode Island, Rhode Island DEM, and the Rhode Island Woodland Partnership in collaboration with NIACS and the USDA Northern Forests Climate Hub. The original guides for Massachusetts were developed for landowners and foresters by Massachusetts DCR, Mass Audubon, NIACS, and the USDA Northern Forests Climate Hub as part of the Massachusetts DCR Climate Forestry program.

Managing Forests for Climate Resiliency in Rhode Island is a more technical guide designed for land managers or stewards of forests in Rhode Island. The information in this guide can support the development of forest management and stewardship plans that address climate change impacts and identify management actions that support landowner goals in the face of changing conditions.
